Job summary

Brandon University is seeking a Labour Relations Specialist to join its Human Resources team. The role focuses on collective bargaining, labour relations administration, and records management in a unionized environment.

Under the Associate Vice-President, People and Talent, you will guide CA interpretations, represent the University in grievance hearings, and coordinate meetings with stakeholders to understand issues and update agreements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
• Five years of labour relations experience; training in Labour Relations.
• CPHR designation preferred; knowledge of CA processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance on Collective Agreements and interpret CA provisions.
• Represent the University in grievance hearings and negotiations as needed.
• Schedule and participate in pre-bargaining activities with stakeholders.
• Draft Letters of Understanding/ MOAs and update CAs with approved language.
• Train stakeholders on agreements and applicable regulations.
