Job summary

University of Toronto is seeking a Faculty Relations Consultant to provide comprehensive HR and labour relations support across the university, with a focus on UTFA negotiations and grievance case management. You will work with diverse offices and handle confidential workplace matters.

The role requires strong expertise in policy interpretation, collective agreements, and stakeholder consultation, along with experience in governance processes and report preparation.

Qualifications

• University degree with HR focus or equivalent experience.
• MIR/MIRHR is an asset.
• Minimum three years in HR with emphasis on collective agreements and investigations.
• Experience advising on policy interpretation and employee investigations.
• Knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code.

Responsibilities

• Advising on the interpretation and application of agreements, policies and procedures.
• Case management of workplace complaints and grievances involving faculty and librarians.
• Drafting letters and supporting bargaining committees and agreement implementation.
• Producing reports in support of faculty relations and bargaining processes.
• Maintaining notes, deadlines and governance timelines.
