Job summary

Cambridge Memorial Hospital (CMH) is seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to provide strategic HR guidance across labour relations, workforce investigations, and policy implementation. The role emphasizes strong partnerships with leadership and union stakeholders within a hospital setting.

Responsibilities include advising on employee relations, grievance resolution, and ensuring compliance with Ontario employment laws, with occasional evenings/weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• University degree related to human resources management, industrial/labour relations or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3–5 years current experience in a unionized environment, preferably in healthcare.
• CHRP designation preferred.
• Experience in collective bargaining is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of employment and labour law in healthcare.
• Experience leading workplace investigations.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice and counsel in all areas of Human Resources including employee relations, collective agreement interpretation and performance management.
• Grievance and dispute resolution management, including representing CMH at mediation and arbitration hearings.
• Conduct workplace investigations in collaboration with organizational leadership.
• Reinforce HR policy and procedures.
• Deliver guidance on workplace violence, discrimination/harassment, and return-to-work matters.
