Job summary

The City of Edmonton is seeking a Manager of Business Planning and Financial Management to lead a 8- to 10-person team within the Parks and Roads Services branch. You will drive budgeting, financial reporting, analytics and performance reporting while partnering with senior leaders to ensure governance and strategic alignment.

You will guide capital and operating budgets, provide expert financial analysis, and foster transparent operations with strong stakeholder relationships across City

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce, Public Administration or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in a large, complex unionized organization, including business planning, fiscal management, KPI reporting and analysis, and project management.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with sections to coordinate and consolidate the Branch Action Plan and ASP, aligning with the City’s Strategic Planning Framework.
  • Oversee data tracking, narrative development, and monthly reporting for Enterprise Performance Management KPIs and branch risk.
  • Lead development, oversight, and execution of 4-year budgets, including alternate funding strategies with Corporate Finance.
  • Provide advanced financial analysis, business case development, costing support and dashboards for leadership decisions.
  • Support branch reporting, dashboards, and analytical requirements across the unit.
  • Establish governance for policy development, work-planning processes and Council reporting to ensure alignment with outcomes.
