Job summary

Desjardins is seeking a Director, Financial Performance to guide the property and casualty insurance sector’s financial strategy, performance management, and talent development. You will partner with the vice-president to set directions and oversee budgeting and cost analyses.

You will lead cross-functional initiatives, drive business results, ensure stakeholder satisfaction, and help shape strategic decisions with a focus on efficiency, change management, and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field.
• Academic specialization in finance, mathematics or actuarial science.
• Professional designation (CPA, CFA or actuarial designation).
• Knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
• Advanced proficiency of English due to duties or interactions with partners.

Responsibilities

• Help the vice-president set directions and objectives.
• Develop and implement the administrative department’s objectives and mandate based on strategic issues and target results.
• Ensure action plans for administrative units under your responsibility are carried out, with a focus on performance management.
• Establish management and communication practices that support change management, talent attraction and retention, skills development, employee engagement and diversity.
• Define and oversee the implementation of activities related to the unit’s services and ensure projects are carried out to maximize business results and client satisfaction.
• Support the sector and its business lines in their strategic decisions, budgets, and financial plan and results; lead budgeting.
• Support the business sector by developing cost-benefit analyses for informed decisions.
• Support growth by developing financial structures or partnerships to meet objectives.
• Oversee efficient management and use of resources and processes.
• Support the sector’s inorganic growth strategy.
