Job summary

Armtec Inc. is seeking an experienced Controller to lead our Finance team in Winnipeg. This hands-on role combines technical accounting with strong business judgment to identify improvements, strengthen controls, and support a growing Canadian manufacturer.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will oversee day-to-day accounting, budgeting, year-end activities with external auditors, and the development of meaningful financial metrics to guide management decisions.

Qualifications

• Progressive accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing.
• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Previous supervisory or management experience.
• Experience working within a multi-entity organization.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Confidence working with leaders across different areas of the business.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead a dedicated accounting team and coordinate day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring work is completed accurately and on time.
• Oversee the preparation and consolidation of financial statements and information.
• Drive the budgeting process and support financial planning activities.
• Coordinate year-end and other activities with external auditors.
• Evaluate accounting processes and internal controls, identifying opportunities to strengthen efficiency, accuracy and compliance.
• Recommend and implement process improvements across the Accounting function.
• Develop and monitor meaningful business and financial performance metrics.
• Provide management with accurate, timely financial information to support informed decision making.
• Oversee regulatory reporting, including applicable tax planning and compliance activities.
• Balance competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced business environment.
