Job summary

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan-based Suncorp Valuations is seeking a hands-on Manager, Finance & Accounting to lead our Finance team and partner with leaders to translate financial data into insights.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will oversee accounting operations, month-end close, and budgeting while developing a capable team and driving continuous improvement. This hybrid role supports growth into strategic finance responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Progressive experience in accounting and financial reporting.
• Experience owning accounting processes, month-end activities, and financial reporting.
• Experience supervising, coaching, or mentoring others.
• Hands-on leadership style with involvement in the work.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with curiosity about drivers.
• Interest in how the business operates beyond the Finance function.
• Ability to explain financial information to non-financial audiences.
• CPA designation or progress toward designation.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a small Finance team while remaining personally involved in accounting, reporting and analysis.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including GL, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Manage month-end and year-end close, audit, tax and compliance activities.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial performance.
• Strengthen financial controls, processes, documentation, and team capability.
• Develop reporting and performance measures that help the organization evaluate results.
• Partner with leaders to understand performance and the financial impact of their decisions.
