Job summary

Town of Huntsville is seeking an Economic Development Coordinator to promote economic and business development. You will build relationships with the business community, liaise with the Downtown Huntsville BIA and local Chambers to support retention, attraction, and expansion initiatives.

You will collect research, provide statistical analyses, identify market trends, and coordinate programs with the District of Muskoka.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills essential.
• Ability to multi-task and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong business planning and analytical abilities.
• Knowledge of local, provincial and federal government roles is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Actively promote and ensure opportunities for economic and business development.
• Liaise with business-supporting groups (BIA, Chambers of Commerce) on retention, attraction and expansion.
• Coordinate programs with local tourism entities and regional partners.
• Collect research, provide statistical analyses and identify local market trends.
• Contribute to policies and coordinate programs to bolster business and tourism.
• Lead special projects such as healthcare attraction and tariff impact studies.
