The Township of Selwyn is seeking an Economic Development Coordinator to lead efforts in business retention, expansion and attraction, tourism development, and community growth.

You will work with developers and startups, prepare the Economic Development Strategy, and liaise with regional partners to promote Selwyn as a business and tourism destination. A university degree with 3+ years of experience is required; Ec. D is an asset.

Formación

• University degree in Public Administration or Economic Development or related field, with at least three years of experience.
• Ec. D certification is an asset.
• Knowledge of community economic development theories and local/regional opportunities.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and map-reading software.
• Understanding of municipal processes and Ontario regulations.
• Experience with marketing and business promotion.

Responsabilidades

• Identify and develop opportunities related to business retention, expansion, attraction, marketing, tourism and agriculture.
• Prepare and implement the Selwyn Township Economic Development Strategy.
• Host forums to generate ideas and keep the strategy current and relevant.
• Create and sustain networks with stakeholders and potential investors.
• Meet with businesses to discuss needs and opportunities.
• Foster partnerships to market the Township as a business and tourism destination.
• Support community development and seek out funding and grant opportunities.
• Assist start-ups with connections to advisory services and funding opportunities.
• Identify regulatory bodies for startups and act as liaison as needed.
• Stay current on business trends and look for innovative supports.
• Develop advertising, promotional and marketing materials for the Township.
• Engage with regional partners on investment and regional tourism marketing.
• Maintain the Township's Community Profile and relevant economic data.
