Job Description

As a Strategic Development Program Trainee (Showroom), you will progress through a five-phase program designed to educate you on every aspect of our business, including shipping and receiving, sales, operations, purchasing, and account management, with a primary focus on the showroom.

As a Showroom Consultant, your role is to assist customers with expert product selection and design advice, ensuring high customer satisfaction and helping us meet or exceed sales and profit targets.

Additional duties include:

  • Assisting showroom customers in assessing needs, guiding product selections, and closing sales
  • Building relationships with designers, home builders, and architects to grow profitable sales
  • Providing quick, reliable quotes and accurate delivery dates
  • Entering orders and quotes into the system, expediting purchases, and maintaining proactive communication
  • Investigating and resolving customer issues, addressing short payments and returns promptly
  • Staying informed on industry trends and competitor offerings
  • Maintaining current product literature for customers
  • Driving showroom sales through promotions and maintaining display materials
  • Following all safety regulations at customer locations and the Profit Centre
  • Collaborating with team members to achieve business growth
  • Performing other tasks as assigned by the Profit Centre Manager

Strategic Development Program Phases

  1. Phase 1: Showroom Inside Sales/Project Management – assisting customers and managing projects
  2. Phase 2: Operations – customer service, counter sales, inventory, and financial management
  3. Phase 3: Warehouse Logistics – product knowledge and sales support
  4. Phase 4: Outside Sales/Account Management – finding new business, selling, negotiating, and relationship building
  5. Phase 5: Career Focus – defining your ideal career path based on training

Qualifications

  • College and/or University degree
  • Positive attitude and results-oriented mindset
  • Desire for continuous learning and growth
  • Interest in home design trends, especially kitchen and bathroom design
  • Excellent customer service and organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic and integrity
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Excellent communication skills for building relationships with customers, vendors, and teammates
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Salary Range: $45,000 + Profit Sharing
