Job summary

Sturgeon County is seeking a Manager, Development Engineering to provide strategic leadership on development infrastructure and servicing. The role leads the Development Engineering team, guides long-term planning, and advises on development agreements, off-site levies, and securities while ensuring growth aligns with municipal priorities.

You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality, compliant engineering solutions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of related experience in a private or government setting.
• Post secondary degree in engineering, public/business administration, or another related field.
• PMI PMP or P.Eng designation, or master's degree considered assets.
• Experience in urban and rural development and knowledge of land development practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and direction aligned with corporate priorities.
• Develop operating and capital budgets for the department.
• Oversee procurement and contract management per County policies.
• Lead development engineering activities for rural, residential, and commercial/industrial sectors.
• Lead stakeholder engagement and provide guidance on development matters.
• Ensure compliance with safety legislation and GMSS standards.
