Job summary

Interac Corp. in Canada is seeking a Data Governance Lead to drive enterprise data governance, metadata management, and data quality initiatives across the organization.

You will establish and monitor KPIs, partner with analytics, legal, risk, and compliance teams, and embed governance into projects while mentoring junior staff in a collaborative, hybrid work environment.

Commitment to privacy, regulatory alignment, and trusted data assets will be key as you lead with ownership and initiative.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Risk, or Compliance
• Hands-on experience with data governance tools (e.g., Alation, DQLabs, Cyera, Collibra)
• Independent, self-driven
• Strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and MS Office
• Ability to adapt to evolving business needs and drive improvements
• Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences
• Detail-oriented, organized, proactive with ownership and accountability

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of enterprise data governance frameworks, policies, standards and operating practices
• Establish and monitor KPIs, delivering insights on program maturity, compliance, data quality and governance effectiveness
• Oversee enterprise metadata management, data lineage, and data catalog capabilities
• Drive data quality initiatives with stakeholders, monitor issues, perform root cause analysis and remediation
• Lead data retention and lifecycle management to meet regulatory privacy and risk requirements
• Partner with analytics, legal, risk, compliance and business teams to embed governance into projects
