Job summary

Canadian Tire Services Limited/Canadian Tire Bank is seeking a senior Data Governance Lead to drive policies, standards, and controls across the data lifecycle. You will mentor staff, partner with Legal, Privacy, and Risk, and champion secure data sharing to support business goals.

You will lead governance metrics, ensure regulatory alignment, and guide adoption of modern data platforms while maintaining high data quality and literacy across the organization.

Qualifications

• Advanced PL/SQL skills with 5+ years in structured data environments.
• Strong BI and data warehousing knowledge; cloud solutions (Azure / GCP).
• Experience with ETL/ELT and modern integration (API, streaming).
• Proficiency with IBM Cloud Pak for Databricks and/or Unity Catalog.
• Ability to develop and enforce data governance policies for privacy, security, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and enforcement of data governance standards, policies, and controls.
• Mentor junior data governance analysts and team members.
• Collaborate with executives, IT, Legal, Compliance, Privacy, Risk, and data teams.
• Foster secure data sharing and promote data literacy with training materials.
• Develop data governance metrics and KPIs to measure program efficacy.
• Monitor data quality, metadata, and reference data across lifecycles.
• Manage governance artifacts such as glossaries, classifications, and lineage.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies; oversee large projects.
