Job summary

Gerdau's Selkirk facility is seeking a seasoned cost and financial analyst to ensure the accuracy of inventories, analysis of costs, and robust internal controls. Reporting to the General Manager, you will review variances with division management, provide monthly performance analysis against forecasts, and support business planning and quarterly forecasts.

The ideal candidate has 5–8 years in cost accounting, a degree in Finance or Accounting (CPA preferred), and strong ERP/SAP and Power BI

Qualifications

• Broad background and extensive knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy of production and ending inventories.
• Determine the validity of usage of raw materials and other costs in the division cost statement.
• Review statements with division management, explaining variances and ensuring understanding of results.
• Provide detailed monthly analysis of results against historical, forecast or benchmark data to identify opportunities for improvements.
• Compile and coordinate all data for inclusion in business plans and quarterly forecasts.
• Review projects (including capital) and assist with calculation of expected project benefits.
• Ensure that the internal control environment is strong and that company policies and procedures are followed.
• Provide analytic reports.
