Job summary

City of Burnaby is seeking a skilled communications, marketing and public engagement professional to plan, develop, coordinate and evaluate projects across City departments. You will research, write and edit materials, identify emerging issues, and implement community consultations while building strong internal and external relationships.

The role requires a degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or related field, plus considerable related experience.

Qualifications

• Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or related discipline required.
• Considerable knowledge of communications, marketing and public engagement principles and technology.
• Driver’s Licence for the Province of British Columbia is required.
• Copies of relevant professional certificates or degrees may be required at interview.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, coordinate and evaluate communications, marketing and public engagement projects, activities and programs.
• Research, write and edit a variety of communications and public engagement materials.
• Identify, assess and anticipate emerging issues and trends; plan and implement community consultation on publicly sensitive issues.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts.
