Job summary

Vancouver City Savings Credit Union is seeking a Strategic Communications Manager to lead the development and execution of an integrated communications strategy across internal and external audiences. You will provide strategic counsel to senior leaders, support transformation initiatives, and oversee crisis and media relations to protect and advance the organization’s reputation.

The role reports to the Director of Enterprise Communications and is based at our head office with regular on‑site

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field.
• 8–10 years of progressive experience in corporate communications or related field.
• Experience developing and executing enterprise communications strategies across internal and external audiences.
• Accreditation through IABC, CPRS, or a related professional organization is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute Vancity’s integrated communications strategy across internal and external audiences.
• Provide strategic counsel to senior leaders and advisory on high‑profile issues.
• Manage internal and external communications programs to ensure consistency and alignment with organizational values.
• Lead proactive media relations, public relations initiatives, and thought leadership opportunities.
• Lead issues management and crisis communications activities to mitigate reputational risk.
• Support strategic stakeholder relations and enterprise brand messaging initiatives.
• Foster employee engagement through transparent, timely, and effective communication programs.
• Build strategic partnerships across the organization to support business objectives.
• Identify project and employee impacts and develop communication plans that support change adoption.
• Monitor, measure, and report on the effectiveness of communication strategies and initiatives.
