Job summary

Gowling WLG is seeking a Collections Specialist to provide support for MBP and national client collections. The role focuses on delinquent accounts, coordination with cash receipts, and client communications.

You will contribute to improving collection processes across Canadian offices, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, teamwork, and customer service in a fast-paced professional services environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in credit and collections or in a professional services environment.
• High School Diploma with 4+ years related work experience; college diploma in accounting or business is an asset.
• Knowledge of accounting/collections software and banking procedures; basic accounting principles.
• Bilingualism (French/English) is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Manage MBP portfolio collections, initiating collection actions and contacting clients as required.
• Prepare delinquent account correspondence according to the firm’s collection policy.
• Investigate disputed balances and prepare reconciliations for MBP or clients.
• Produce reports on collection efforts, results, and clients in arrears.
• Maintain client notes in the collection system and schedule follow-ups.
