Job summary

Canadian Natural is seeking a Supply Management Professional (Category Management) to develop and execute sourcing strategies across Western Canada. You will optimize procurement decisions, manage risk and strengthen supplier performance while advancing contract management expertise.

Senior candidate will lead negotiations, use market intelligence, and drive continuous improvement in supplier relationships, analytics, and cost management. Relocation is possible for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, law, or a related field.
• Minimum 10–15 years of progressive experience in operations, category management and strategic sourcing.
• Ability to initiate and develop strategies without prompting from the business unit.
• Ability to influence business units and others.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across departments and with external vendors.
• Professional certifications such as CSCP or CPSM are assets.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives to optimize contract outcomes and mitigate risk.
• Lead contract negotiation and lifecycle management with alignment to commercial objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct market research and supplier analysis to evaluate capabilities and pricing across key portfolios.
• Manage supplier relationships to enhance performance and drive value through contract governance.
• Leverage data analytics and benchmarking to enable informed decisions and cost management.
• Present complex commercial concepts clearly to stakeholders for sourcing strategy alignment.
• Drive continuous improvement by analyzing market trends and advancing supply chain practices.
