Job summary

KI Canada is seeking a Purchasing and Inventory Control professional to plan and purchase materials, supplies and services using supply chain principles to maximize value.

You will qualify suppliers, evaluate quotes, negotiate pricing, monitor supplier performance, and maintain key supplier relationships, while ensuring on-time delivery and optimal inventory levels. This role requires collaboration with scheduling, engineering and production teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary completion with 2 years purchasing/inventory experience.
• Overhead crane and forklift operator certifications preferred.
• Experience with procurement and supply chain processes in an MRP environment (e.g. BPCS).

Responsibilities

• Develop sources of supply and establish cost-effective pricing, quality and timely deliveries.
• Resolve quality/quantity/delivery and pricing issues via supplier analysis.
• Monitor and validate inventory levels as required; manage supplier performance.
• Lead strategic sourcing and supplier management including negotiation and risk management.
• Coordinate with master scheduling, engineering and production on sourcing and material requirements.
• Participate in cross-functional materials management projects and value improvements.
• Maintain a collaborative, time-efficient team environment.
