Job summary

Teck Resources Limited seeks a Buyer for Highland Valley Copper on-site in British Columbia. You will support SCM purchasing activities, maintain PO accuracy, manage vendor relationships, and ensure timely delivery of materials and services.

The role emphasizes value, sourcing optimization, and adherence to safety and corporate policies. Strong communication, multitasking, and forklift/driver certification are assets.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of progressive purchasing experience preferred.
• Completion or enrolment in SCM designation is encouraged.
• Post-secondary diploma/degree in related field or equivalent experience.
• Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Experience with contract structures, terms, and conditions.
• Ability to manage large volumes of work and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Create, manage, and track purchase orders using Teck's ERP system.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse and production teams.
• Assist in evaluating bids, quotes, and costing sheets.
• Administer contracting life cycle for large-scale projects.
• Build relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Review invoices with Accounts Payable to resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure purchases comply with policies and ethical guidelines.
• Lead market analysis to propose sourcing opportunities.
