Job summary

Strathcona County is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support the Business Relationship and Project Management Branch. The role focuses on building strong relationships between ITS and county departments to improve service delivery through analysis, PM, and advisory services.

Key responsibilities include gathering requirements, developing process models, and coordinating projects to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions. Hybrid work arrangements may apply.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of IT experience with business analysis focus.
• 3 years of project management experience with formal training, or 5 years without formal training.
• Strong requirements analysis, elicitation, modelling, and testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Identify, analyze, and validate business needs to improve service delivery organization-wide.
• Partner with departments to maximize IT investments and implement new systems.
• Gather requirements through workshops, surveys, and site visits.
• Develop process models, diagrams, and specifications to prototype solutions.
• Research marketplace solutions and best practices from other jurisdictions.
• Develop and execute test plans to ensure requirements and performance goals are met.
• Coordinate and lead projects to deliver business outcomes.
• Maintain expert knowledge in business analysis and IT services.
• Oversee daily operations to ensure ITS policy compliance and audits.
• Foster relationships and manage risk/expectations with partners.
