Job summary

The University of Saskatchewan invites applications for the role of Associate Dean, Research & Collections, Library. This senior leadership position shapes the library’s response to Open Access and Open Scholarship, overseeing research support, acquisitions, special collections, and library systems.

The role interfaces with Information Technology to set needs and priorities and leads key strategic projects.

Qualifications

Requires an ALA-accredited Master of Library and Information Science degree (or international equivalent).
Demonstrated strategic leadership capacity, including guiding organizational change and aligning priorities.
Proven experience leading people and teams with focus on employee development and cross-unit collaboration.

Responsibilities

Set vision and strategic direction for the University Library and research portfolio.
Manage budget planning and resource allocation for acquisitions and services.
Lead collaboration with campus partners and administrative units to advance shared goals.
Mentor and coach leaders within the portfolio to build leadership capacity.
Ensure compliance with policies, laws, and collective agreements.
Advance Indigenization, equity, diversity, inclusion, accessibility and anti-racism in operations.
