Job summary

Alberta Health Services in Ponoka, Alberta is seeking a Stores I to manage the picking, packing, shipping and receiving of hospital supplies, equipment and food, and to process requisitions while distributing supplies and maintaining effective inventory accuracy. The role includes communicating with stakeholders to ensure appropriate quantities and to prevent overstocking.

This casual/relief position requires Grade 12, the ability to lift up to 25 kg, and stamina for walking/standing through

  • Must be capable of pushing and pulling heavy wheeled carts up to 275 kgs.
  • Must be capable of walking and standing for long periods.
  • Requires ability to lift/carry heavy items up to 25 kg.

  • Pick, pack, ship and receive hospital supplies, equipment and/or food following guidelines.
  • Process incoming requisitions and distribute supplies.
  • Track inventory and perform cart audits for quality assurance.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to ensure correct quantities and prevent overstocking.

Job description

As a Stores I, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks associated with the picking, packaging, shipping and receiving of orders for hospital supplies, equipment and/or food in accordance with established guidelines and standards. You will process incoming requisitions and distribute supplies, complete cart audits for quality assurance and communicate frequently with stakeholders to ensure appropriate and correct quantities of supplies are available. In addition, you will track and report on inventory to ensure over stocking does not occur.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.Must be capable of pushing and pulling heavy wheeled carts up to and occasionally exceeding 275 Kgs.Must be capable of walking and or standing for long periods of time.Must regularly use hand and arms to reach, lift, and carry heavy items up to 25 kg.
