About the Role
As a Store Manager, you’ll be responsible for the total holistic omni customer experience in your store, ensuring high visual and commercial standards according to the store format, location, and global & regional strategies. You will lead the full store team to excel, creating an inclusive culture that promotes collaboration and entrepreneurial spirit. You will analyze sales data, follow up on results, and develop plans to optimize store performance.
A Day in the Life

Customer Sales & Profit
- Ensure the total OMNI customer experience, with visual and commercial presentation aligned with store format, global, and regional guidelines.
- Represent the H&M brand positively in all customer interactions.
- Analyze sales and budget goals, creating strategies to meet or exceed targets.
- Provide excellent personal customer service and guide customers through fashion stories.
- Promote the Customer Loyalty App and sustainability initiatives.
- Manage staffing hours in line with sales and promotional activities.
- Maintain routines for fitting rooms and checkouts, including transactions, returns, and exchanges.
- Identify commercial opportunities based on store strengths and competitor awareness.
- Oversee store maintenance efficiently and ensure administrative routines are properly handled.
Fashion & Trend Awareness
- Stay updated on fashion trends, styles, brands, competitors, and influencers.
- Ensure the team provides product and fashion knowledge to customers.
- Understand the local market, customer preferences, and fashion trends.
Team & Development
- Manage talent recruitment, onboarding, development, and performance evaluations.
- Plan succession and retain team knowledge and skills.
- Collaborate with Area and store leadership, including Visual Merchandisers.
- Communicate effectively to motivate and inform staff.
- Plan and schedule team rosters, ensuring procedures, routines, security, and legal requirements are followed.
- Participate in onboarding, training, and development initiatives.
Retail Operations/ Visual & Commercial Execution
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and well-presented sales floor and back of house.
- Ensure high-quality visual and product presentation, including garment care.
- Monitor stock levels and contribute to allocation decisions.
- Support daily store opening and closing routines.
- Manage the full garment cycle and fitting room routines according to standards.
- Utilize in-store tech tools and services effectively.
- Maintain consistent pricing signage aligned with global and local strategies.
- Keep BOH areas organized and compliant with safety and health standards.
Qualifications
- Strong leadership skills and experience managing teams.
- Effective communicator, confident in coaching and developing others.
- Experience in retail management, operations, and working with numbers/statistics.
- Proven ability to collaborate with teams and lead store performance.
