Job summary

Advance Auto Parts in Ontario, Canada is seeking a Delivery Driver to pick, stage and safely deliver parts and uphold service standards. You will build relationships with customers, upsell products, and maintain store cleanliness while stocking shelves and managing returns.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to work days, evenings and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Pick, stage and safely deliver parts.
  • Pick up returns and cores.
  • Drop off weekly/monthly sales flyers while promoting current sales and loyalty programs.
  • Daily collection of credit accounts.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers while providing the CPP with insights learned while making deliveries.
  • Assist in upselling and cross-selling products to increase average transaction value.
  • Maintain store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting and parking lot.
  • General stocking including truck stocking, back stock and cycle counts.
  • Maintain knowledge of product inventory and new arrivals to assist with sales.
  • Engage with walk-in customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate parts or services.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential Job Skills Necessary For Success As a Driver

  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs and procedure manuals
  • Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings and weekends as needed
  • Confidence in engaging customers and promoting products
  • Willing to learn about new products and sales techniques
Prior Experience That Sets a Driver Up For Success
  • Automotive parts experience is preferred
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Compensation Range

Compensation Range: The range of expected compensation for this role is between 17.60 CAD and 18.85 CAD per hour for a new team member. The rate offered to a successful candidate depends on multiple factors, including geographic location, experience in retail, automotive knowledge, education, leadership roles, and other skillsets ideal for this position and shift differential (if applicable).
