Job summary

Fairmont Palliser in Calgary invites applications for a part‑time Steward Helper to support the kitchen team and uphold premier standards of service. Reporting to the Chief Steward, you will assist with daily cleaning duties, dishwashing, and maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment while contributing to guest satisfaction.

Ideal candidates have a year of similar experience, a strong work ethic, and the ability to multitask in a fast‑paced kitchen.

Qualifications

  • One year of previous experience in a similar position is an asset.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume Kitchen
  • Should be able to handle multiple tasks in a timely manner
  • Strong organizational skills
  • A strong capacity to work with and motivate a culturally diverse work force
  • Energetic, self-motivated, proactive, out-going, team-player

Responsibilities

  • Consistently offers professional, friendly and proactive service to all our guest and colleagues
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment and ensures that all Health & Safety standards are met, procedures followed, and has the knowledge and tools to work safely
  • Maintains awareness of, and ensures compliance with all food safety & hygiene policies and that procedures are followed at all times
  • Completes all temperature records, honestly and correctly
  • Delivers a clean & sanitary work area and equipment in all Food & Beverage areas, including the staff cafeteria & Fairmont Gold Lounge
  • Performs daily cleaning duties of all F&B back spaces and equipment
  • Operates the main dishwashers and restocks equipment in all Food and Beverage areas.
  • Maintains proper recycling and composting procedures
  • Assists the Kitchen team with food service delivery as needed
  • Has good knowledge of WHIMIS
  • Maintains awareness of, and ensures compliance with all sustainability and food waste reduction/diversion policies, procedures and programs at the hotel
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Job Description

We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Fairmont Palliser as our new Steward Helper (Part‑time). Inspire and create the grandest experience for our guest, clients and colleagues every day. As a Steward Helper, you will play an important role in support of your colleagues and the preparation of exceptional cuisine. Reporting to the Chief Steward.

Key Responsibilities
