Job summary

Lakeridge Health Oshawa is seeking an MDRD Technician to support the Surgical Program. You will decontaminate, sterilize, and distribute medical/surgical equipment, prepare case carts for procedures, and ensure accurate barcoding and inventory control.

The role requires completion of an MDRD program or CSAO course, two years of MDRD experience in the past year, knowledge of OR instrumentation and infection control, and strong communication and teamwork in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized MDRD program with practicum.
• Two years MDRD experience within the past 12 months.
• Knowledge of OR instrumentation and sterilization processes.
• Current knowledge of E-Req System.
• Infection control knowledge and practices.
• Ability to learn quickly and work with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Receive and dispatch equipment requests from nursing areas, including O.R.
• Decontaminate, inspect, sterilize, and prepare case carts for procedures.
• Operate steam sterilizers and manage equipment using a barcoding/inventory system.
• Maintain and replenish medical/surgical supplies and equipment.
