Job summary

Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) rostered staff are responsible for sterile processing tasks in the hospital setting, including cleaning, assembling, and sterilizing instrument sets used in the operating room and endoscopy suites.

Staff must efficiently wrap instruments, maintain sterile technique, and perform related clerical duties. Grade 12 and Sterile Supply Processing training with 1 year of related experience are required.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 with Sterile Supply Processing course and 1 year related experience or equivalent.
• Additional training in sterile processing is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning, sorting, assembling and picking instrument sets, equipment, and endoscopes for OR and Endoscopy.
• Wrap and sterilize instruments using applicable techniques and distribute to areas.
• Carry out related computerized and clerical duties.
