Job summary

Humber River Health is seeking an SPD Aide to support the Sterile Processing Department in a temporary full-time role. You will work across rotating shifts, contributing to decontamination, sterilization and aseptic processing of instruments and equipment for surgical and clinical areas.

The position requires Grade 12, a Medical Device Reprocessing Certificate, MDRAO registration, and at least two years of related experience. Strong English communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Medical Device Reprocessing Certificate from a Canadian Accredited Community College
• Current MDRAO registration
• Two years recent experience in reprocessing, decontamination and sterilization

Responsibilities

• Infection control compliant decontamination, sterilization and aseptic technique per policies
• Receive, sort, decontaminate, assemble and sterilize medical devices and trays
• Load and operate sterilizing equipment; monitor and QA sterilization process
• Print labels, prepare and deliver medical devices and supplies for procedures
• Maintain inventory levels and handle clerical duties related to the department
• Assist with orientation and training of new staff and students
