Job summary

Weir is hiring a Production Team Member- Steel Processing at our Lively, ON facility. This onsite, full-time role operates on a rotating schedule with day and afternoon shifts.

You will load and unload plates using cranes, magnets, and rigging, perform strapping, grinding, labeling and packaging, and maintain clean, safe workstations. You’ll support the steel coordinator, monitor inventory, and uphold zero-harm safety principles in accordance with our policies.

Qualifications

• Crane operation experience or equivalent hands-on experience with rigging and magnets.
• Strong safety mindset with the ability to follow and promote zero harm behaviors.
• Self-motivated with excellent situational awareness and readiness to work.
• Proficient in the use of hand tools, grinders, torches, and electrical pallet jacks.

Responsibilities

• Operational Efficiency: Use cranes, magnets, and rigging effectively to load and unload plates and parts to and from cutting tables, ensuring smooth workflow and minimal downtime.
• Daily Task Management: Perform strapping, grinding, labeling, packaging, and demagnetizing of plates while maintaining clean work areas, machines, tools, and equipment.
• Safety and Compliance: Consistently apply proper PPE and adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations to maintain a zero-harm environment.
• Support Coordination: Assist the steel coordinator in organizing and staging parts, demonstrating situational awareness and readiness to support cutting table efficiency.
• Inventory and Housekeeping: Track parts or inventory within the department and maintain station cleanliness through small tasks and housekeeping activities.
