Job summary

Creative Energy, downtown Vancouver, seeks a Steam Distribution Engineer to operate and maintain the Steam Distribution System, boiler plant operations, and distribution networks. You will work with a team ensuring safe, reliable energy delivery and support service engineers in daily tasks.

The ideal candidate holds a 4th Class Power Engineering certificate, 3rd Class preferred, and 3–5 years experience in chillers, HVAC, and piping.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a valid 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate.
  • 3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate preferred.
  • Other relevant trade qualifications or certificates are assets.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of related experience in chillers, chilled water systems, instrumentation, electrical, HVAC and pipe fitting.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain the Steam Distribution System, including boiler plant operations, steam, hot and chilled water plants and distribution systems.
  • Assist other Service Engineers with operation, maintenance, repair or new installation of building services.
  • Read and record all building consumption meters at month end and as required.
  • Transport materials from plant or suppliers’ premises to job sites.
  • Assist in removal, rebuild and recording of service line distribution equipment (valves, pilots, traps, etc.).
  • Contribute to safety, efficiency and day-to-day operation of the Plant and distribution system.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a customer service focused Steam Distribution Engineer to operate and maintain our Steam Distribution System, including boiler plant operations, steam, hot and chilled water plants and distribution systems and building services. You will:

  • Assist other Service Engineers as directed in the operation and maintenance of the Steam and Hot Water distribution systems.
  • Assist with repair or new installation of building services.
  • Operate equipment as necessary – manhole blowers, pumps, etc.
  • Transport materials from plant or suppliers’ premises to the job site.
  • Read and record all building consumption meters at month end and as required during the month.
  • Assist in the removal, rebuild and recording of all service line distribution equipment e.g. pressure reducing valves, pilots, traps, drums, etc.
  • Other duties as required for the safety, improvement, and day‑to‑day operation of the Plant and distribution system.
What You Bring
Qualifications and Experience
  • Hold a valid 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate.
  • 3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate Preferred.
  • Other relevant trade qualifications or certificates are considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years of related experience, including chillers, chilled water systems, instrumentation, electrical, HVAC and pipe fitting experience.

What we Offer
