Job summary

Intelcom | Dragonfly is seeking a capable Operations Manager to lead safety, efficiency, and staff development at our Canadian last-mile hub. You’ll supervise daily tasks, enforce safety standards, manage budgets, and coordinate onboarding and audits to ensure reliable service quality.

Join a team focused on strong stakeholder relations, data-driven performance, and ongoing improvements across inventory and facilities.

  • Plan onboarding activities for new employees for a smooth transition.
  • Maintain station facilities and equipment in good working order.
  • Ensure warehouse cleanliness and organization.

Your Role: At the Heart of the Chain
Core Duties:
1. Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety protocols andmaintaina hazard-free work environment.

  • Enforce safe working methods and behaviors within the team.

  • Conduct safety audits and operations checks.

  • Ensure all operationscomply withlocal, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies.

  • Make sure everyone meets safety standards and respond quickly to requests for changes and unforeseen events.

  • Respond to emergencies asrequired.

2. Operations Management
  • Supervise day-to-day operations and provide feedback and ways to improve in OPS.

  • Implement operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency.

  • Monitor and manage the station's budget to ensure financial efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

  • Monitor and manage the station's controllable margin by tracking and analyzing controllable costs and revenues (e.g., staff scheduling, sort cost).

  • Plan and oversee onboarding activities for new employees to ensure a smooth transition.

  • Monitor andmaintainstation facilities and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.

  • Ensure warehouse cleanliness and organization.

3. Staff Management & Development
  • Conduct regular reviews with Independent Delivery Contractors (IDCs) to assess performance (QAR), address concerns, and discuss improvements.

  • Provide training and development opportunities for staff to enhance their skills and ensure theyareup-to-datewith company policies and procedures.

  • Mentor and support the team.

  • Manage and coordinate station staff and schedules to ensure adequate coverage.

  • Conduct regular station audits and performance evaluations for staff and provide feedback to help them improve and grow in their roles.

4. Customer & Stakeholder Relations
  • Address customer inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally tomaintainhigh levelsof customer satisfaction.

  • Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth operations and address any issues that arise.

  • Communicate regularly with upper management to provide updates and discuss improvements and cascade any changes down the chain.

5. Inventory & Asset Management
  • Oversee inventory levels and ensure that all materials and supplies are adequately stocked and accounted for.

  • Implement and oversee loss prevention strategies to safeguard company assets, packages, and other goods.

  • Conduct regular audits,monitorfor theft or fraud, and ensure all undelivered parcels are returned to the station at the end of the day.

  • In case of suspected theft, initiate investigations and coordinate with the Loss Prevention department and IDC relationship manager.

6. Reporting & Data Management
  • Maintainaccuratelogs (delivery, incident, inventory) and daily reports.

  • Prepare andmonitorperformance reports (on-time deliveries, exceptions, etc.).

Perform data entry as needed tomaintainaccuraterecords.

  • Evaluate and assess employeeperformance, workplaceconduct and compliance asrequired, including discipline whereappropriate.

  • Cleaning, general housekeeping.

  • Other duties as assigned.
