Stingray Radio Kelowna is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join their promotions and marketing team as a part-time street team member. Qualifications

Job description

Stingray Radio Kelowna is hiring an entry level position in our promotions and marketing department. As a part-time member of the street team, you will represent New Country 100.7 and K96.3 at various events, concerts, and trade shows throughout the year. As our behind the scenes rock star, you’ll get the chance to work on a wide variety of projects with both radio stations.

While no previous promotions or radio experience is required, team members must be motivated, responsible, energetic, and have the ability to work independently and as part of a team. All while having fun. We’ll teach you how to do the rest! We also ask you are available for at least one shift per month and okay with min wage salary with some perks.

Your day-to-day

  • Conduct all activities according to current Public Health and Corporate Health and Safety protocols
  • Professional set up of on-location events, including signage, tents, backdrops, and broadcast equipment
  • Efficient and timely set up and execution for all events
  • Attend and participate in meetings and creative brainstorms as available
  • Be creative and quick thinking; an opportunity for new ideas can arise at a moment’s notice
  • Be the person who knows everything about the radio stations! Not only do you know your stuff, you can talk about it as an enthusiastic brand ambassador for the stations by actively engaging listeners and clients
  • Work closely with promotions team to build and maintain great relationships and to develop, as a team, an effective street level presence at all events
  • Set-up and oversee technical equipment at client remotes and live-to-airs. Full technical training will be provided
  • Generate engaging content for all social media platforms including photos and videos for concerts, events and live remotes, maintaining our station brands
  • Ensure the proper handling and safe storage of promotional signage and equipment; along with organization
  • Ensure proper and safe usage and maintenance of station vehicles; Gas/clean
  • Provide detailed event wrap reports and ideas on ‘how could we make it better’
  • Help manage prize inventory

Your Qualifications

  • A valid British Columbia Class-5 driver’s license and a clean driving record are mandatory
  • Detail oriented: attention to detail is essential! That’s one thing we can’t teach
  • Must have a strong knowledge and understanding of social media platforms
  • Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Schedules will be available at least two weeks in advance but are subject to change
  • Highly energetic, outgoing and eager to interact with listeners and non-listeners to generate excitement at events
  • Self-motivated, team player with a positive attitude and passion to win
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under minimal supervision
  • Must be willing get your hands dirty and handle occasional heavy lifting, while treating equipment with respect and care
  • Understand the importance of representing our K96.3 Classic Rock and New Country 100.7 brands in a professional manner at all events
