Job description

At Stingray, creativity, collaboration, and innovative technology are the pillars of our DNA. Are you ready to rock your career by joining a growing company, a team of music enthusiasts in a stimulating and fun work environment?

Stingray Radio Kelowna is hiring an entry-level position in our promotions and marketing department. As a part-time member of the street team, you will represent New Country 100.7 and K96.3 at various events, concerts, and trade shows throughout the year. You’ll get the chance to work on a wide variety of projects with both radio stations.

While no previous promotions or radio experience is required, team members must be motivated, responsible, energetic, and able to work independently and as part of a team. All while having fun. We’ll teach you the rest! You should be available for at least one shift per month and be comfortable with minimum wage salary and some perks.

  • Conduct all activities according to current Public Health and Corporate Health and Safety protocols.
  • Set up professionally at on-location events, including signage, tents, backdrops, and broadcast equipment.
  • Ensure efficient and timely setup and execution for all events.
  • Attend and participate in meetings and creative brainstorms.
  • Be creative and quick-thinking; opportunities for new ideas can arise at a moment’s notice.
  • Be knowledgeable about the radio stations and act as an enthusiastic brand ambassador, actively engaging listeners and clients.
  • Work closely with the promotions team to build relationships and develop an effective street-level presence at events.
  • Set up and oversee technical equipment at client remotes and live-to-airs. Full technical training will be provided.
  • Create engaging content for social media platforms, including photos and videos of concerts, events, and live remotes, maintaining our station brands.
  • Handle and store promotional signage and equipment safely and organize them properly.
  • Maintain station vehicles, including proper usage and regular cleaning.
  • Provide detailed event wrap reports and suggestions for improvement.
  • Hold a valid British Columbia Class-5 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Pay attention to detail, as this is essential and cannot be taught.
  • Have a strong understanding of social media platforms.
  • Be flexible with availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with schedules provided at least two weeks in advance.
  • Be highly energetic, outgoing, and eager to interact with listeners and non-listeners to generate excitement.
  • Be self-motivated, a team player, with a positive attitude and a passion for success.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Willing to handle occasional heavy lifting and get hands dirty, while respecting equipment.
  • Represent our K96.3 Classic Rock and New Country 100.7 brands professionally at all events.
