Job Summary

The Business and Technical Support Services Branch provides strategic, business, technical, and operational support services by consolidating and streamlining the delivery of specialized services to an assigned department. The role involves developing, implementing, and evaluating stakeholder engagement, communications, and event plans of moderate to high complexity, as well as providing specialized advice and supporting strategic communications, media relations, and issues management.

Education and Experience
  • 4-year degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related field
  • 5 years of experience in planning, developing, and evaluating stakeholder engagement, communications, and event plans, including leadership in their implementation
Certifications and Licenses

Valid Ontario unrestricted G class driver’s license (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerit points

Knowledge
  • Concepts, principles, methods, and tactics of communications and stakeholder engagement
  • Tools and technologies for virtual and in-person communications, such as social media, Zoom, MS Teams, Engage Ottawa
  • Event planning and management
  • Industry trends and developments
  • Project management
  • Knowledge of the Corporation, departmental policies, organizational structure, legislation, regulations, and guidelines
  • Microsoft Office suite
  • Health and safety legislation and worker rights
