The Alpine Club of Canada is seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to perform routine maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on a range of heavy equipment including snow cats and snowmobiles. The role requires a Red Seal ticket and a minimum of three years in heavy‑duty mechanics, preferably in ski or outdoor environments.

You will work outdoors in varying weather, maintain calibration of hydraulic and electrical systems, document work in CMMS, and help budget for annual vehicle upkeep.

Qualifications

• Red Seal certification required.
• Minimum 3 years experience in heavy‑duty mechanics; ski industry a plus.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Familiarity with heavy industrial equipment (excavators, loaders, skid steers).
• Experience repairing undercarriage and track assemblies is a plus.
• Welding ticket is an asset.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license.

Responsabilités

• Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure performance, safety and longevity of the equipment.
• Dismantle components to examine for excessive wear or damage.
• Repair, replace, clean, and lubricate parts as necessary.
• Maintain and calibrate vehicle electrical systems.
• Monitor hydraulic systems for leaks and replace components as needed.
• Manage daily work assignments with minimal supervision.
• Maintain records of work completed in the CMMS.
• Contribute to annual vehicle maintenance budgeting.
• Ensure safety and good housekeeping practices.
• Adhere to safety regulations and environmental policies.
