Job summary

Caseware is seeking a senior UX designer to own design across audit, financial reporting, and data analytics from problem framing to implementation.

You will design AI-native interaction patterns, mentor designers, contribute to a design system, and collaborate with Product and Engineering to shape roadmaps. Eight+ years of UX experience and a strong portfolio are required.

Location: Toronto area; on-site collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience designing journeys in complex, regulated, or data-heavy domains.
• Interest in AI-assisted design.

Job description

• Own design of complex and ambiguous product areas across audit, financial reporting, and data analytics from problem framing through implementation
• Design AI-native interaction patterns, including agentic-driven and conversational UI, intelligent defaults, and predictive interfaces
• Design human oversight moments in agentic workflows to keep auditors in control
• Shape whole auditor journeys and how AI capabilities change audit work
• Produce working prototypes for engineering using AI-assisted tools
• Decide research questions and lead studies addressing strategic uncertainty
• Shape roadmap and sequencing discussions with Product and Engineering
• Turn high-level requirements into actionable team work
• Lead cross-team design initiatives and build agreement without formal authority
• Contribute to Caseware’s design system and uphold component and accessibility standards
• Mentor designers at all experience levels
• Participate in design critiques and follow developments in UX practice, AI tooling, and accounting software

Requirements

• Eight or more years of experience in user experience or related fields
• Portfolio demonstrating complex product problems, design decisions under ambiguity, and direction others built on
• Track record of designing at the journey level in complex, regulated, or data-heavy domains
• Enthusiasm for working at the intersection of design craft and AI-assisted making
• Familiarity with AI-assisted design tools and processes
• Experience with or willingness to work with Figma Make, Claude Code, and Replit
• Experience designing AI-native interaction patterns, such as conversational or predictive interfaces, or a clear point of view on transparency, accountability, and user trust
• Experience owning the research agenda for a product area and leading studies
• Proficiency with Figma
• Experience contributing to a component-based design system
• Command of accessibility standards sufficient to evaluate AI-generated components
• Confidence setting design direction with Product and Engineering leadership
• Track record of mentoring experienced designers
• Knowledge of accounting, audit, or financial services industries is a bonus
• Prior experience designing AI-powered or conversational product features is a bonus
