Job summary

Intact is seeking a Principal, Software Engineering to join the Shared Services team in Canada. You will drive technical direction across platforms, mentor engineers, and lead strategic modernization efforts while delivering high-impact, reliable software for enterprise-wide use.

You will collaborate with senior leaders to set roadmaps, ensure production readiness, and champion secure, scalable delivery across product teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience in software development, architecture, and leadership across complex production environments.
• Strong proficiency with APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Write and review production code on shared platforms and critical delivery paths.
• Pair with engineers to resolve high-ambiguity challenges across cloud services, APIs, and legacy systems.
• Lead by example during incidents, investigations, and complex defect resolutions.
• Develop reusable frameworks, APIs, automation, and toolkits to accelerate delivery.
• Own technology direction and roadmaps for shared capabilities aligned with enterprise objectives.
