Clio, the global leader in legal AI technology, seeks a Staff Software Developer to join our rapidly growing engineering team. This role is open to candidates across Canada (excluding Quebec) and offers exposure to innovative fintech projects and AI-driven features within a fast-growing SaaS platform.

You will participate in defining technical roadmaps, mentor engineers, and drive architectural decisions while collaborating with distributed teams to deliver high-quality software.

Qualifications

• Experience in software development, specifically with building web applications at scale.
• Ability to master new technologies quickly in a dynamic environment with distributed teams and customers.
• Demonstrated success in mentorship in software development, using Agile processes and large scale SaaS products.
• Diverse knowledge to help solve complex technical problems.
• Portfolio of successful projects with lessons learned from failures.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building with colleagues and customers.

Responsibilities

• Act as a technical stakeholder for multiple projects and teams within your area of focus.
• Partner with development managers to define the technical roadmap for an area.
• Drive multi-year technical strategy and architectural direction for your area.
• Identify and resolve technical big rocks that unlock product opportunities.
• Orchestrate AI agents to architect, review, and write high-quality, well-tested code.
• Collaborate with a team to solve complex problems and deliver elegant solutions to customers.
