Job summary

Clio seeks a Senior Software Developer in Toronto to join our Engineering team. You will build scalable web apps with Rails, mentor peers, and contribute to a high‑performing SaaS platform.

Collaborate with distributed teams across Canada, the US and Ireland, review code, and help drive performance and reliability. The role requires in‑office presence in Toronto two days per week.

Qualifications

  • Experience in software development, specifically with building web applications at scale using Ruby on Rails.
  • Ability to gain fluency in new technologies quickly and work effectively in an ever-evolving environment that includes distributed teams and customers.
  • Demonstrated success in mentorship in software development, particularly using an Agile process and with large scale SaaS products.
  • A diverse base of knowledge that allows you to help your team solve complex technical problems.
  • A history of past projects and clear communication skills and the ability to build high-trust relationships with fellow Clions and customers.
  • Demonstrate a keen interest in improving your craft by using AI.

This role is only open to candidates based in Toronto, and will require a presence in the hub office twice a week.

Summary

We are currently seeking a Senior Software Developer to join our rapidly growing Engineering team. This role is for someone who is passionate about building innovative solutions and being exposed to new challenges and technologies while making an impact.

A day in the life might look like

Deep curiosity and a desire to learn will help you succeed in this job, combined with a drive to help others by shipping code. We have cross‑trained developers coming from Java, Python, C++, and JavaScript backgrounds, and are happy to help you learn Ruby when you get here.

The expected salary range for this role is $144,700 to $195,900 CAD. Initial placement within the range is informed by geographic region, experience, and skillset, with room to progress as impact and tenure grow. Final offer amounts will vary based on candidate profile.
