Our Ways of Working

Babylist thrives as a remote-first company, with HQ team members located across the U.S. and Canada. We meet in person twice a year—once as a company and once by department to strengthen the relationships that power our work. We show up consistently, stay purpose-driven, and achieve results —together, from anywhere.

What the Role Is

As a Staff Product Designer focused on Registry experience, you'll own the design vision for one of Babylist's core product areas - helping millions of expecting parents create registries and enabling their loved ones to give meaningful gifts. You'll design across web and mobile platforms to create intuitive experiences that make gift-giving joyful and registry management effortless. You'll collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to ship impactful features that directly affect our users' most important moments. This role requires balancing high-level strategic thinking with hands-on execution, ensuring every interaction feels thoughtful and polished while helping strengthen and improve our design system along the way.

Who You Are

  • You're an experienced product designer with 10+ years in the field or comparable portfolio who combines strong visual design skills with deep understanding of user flows and interaction design
  • You have advanced Figma expertise and can create detailed, responsive designs that work seamlessly across platforms
  • You're comfortable with ambiguity and can move quickly from concept to high-fidelity designs without losing attention to detail
  • You understand how to craft intuitive user journeys and make complex processes feel simple and natural
  • You actively seek user feedback through testing and research to validate design decisions and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Experience with design systems is valuable - you understand how to create scalable components and recognize patterns that benefit the broader product
  • You stay current with design trends and AI-assisted tools, incorporating them thoughtfully rather than chasing novelty
  • You're self-directed but collaborative, able to receive feedback constructively, and always advocate for the user experience even when facing technical or business constraints

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Your design work will directly influence how millions of families experience some of their most meaningful moments - from creating their first baby registry to receiving gifts from loved ones
  • You'll elevate the registry experience by identifying friction points and designing solutions that make the process more intuitive and delightful for both registrants and gift-givers
  • You'll get your designs in front of users early and often, using their feedback to iterate and improve the experience before launch
  • Through your systems thinking, you'll help strengthen and improve our design system along the way, creating reusable patterns that maintain consistency while allowing for innovation
  • Your user-centric approach will help the team ship faster while maintaining quality, ultimately supporting Babylist's mission to help parents make confident decisions during a transformative time in their lives

Why You Will Love Working At Babylist

  • We invest in the infrastructure you’ll need to be supported and successful: tools, opportunities to connect with colleagues, and a stipend to help you set up your office
  • We build products that have a positive impact on millions of people’s lives
  • We work at a sustainable pace which means work/life balance is a real thing here
  • We believe technology and data can solve hard problems
  • We believe in exceptional management
  • We offer competitive pay and meaningful opportunities for career advancement
  • We have great benefits like company paid medical, dental, and vision, a generous paid parental leave policy, and 401k with company match
  • We care about employee wellbeing with perks for physical, mental and emotional health, parenting, childcare, and financial planning

Babylist takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location.

The estimated pay range for this role is CAD $137,200- $171,500

In addition, Babylist offers equity, bonus, and benefits, including company paid health, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies.
