Job summary

Infineon Technologies in Ottawa, Canada is seeking a Staff IC Product Engineer to shape test strategies for power semiconductor products within our Research & Development team. You will collaborate with IC design and test teams to drive characterization and test program development.

The role requires a bachelor’s in Electrical or Electronics Engineering with 3–5 years in a semiconductor company, strong data analysis, and hands-on laboratory characterization.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (power electronics, semiconductor development) or a related discipline, with at least 3-5 years of experience in a semiconductor company.
  • Strong data analytical skills in the evaluation and characterization of power semiconductors.
  • Strong test development skills along with the ability to define hardware/software needs for debug.
  • Yield analysis and circuit debug experience with 6-sigma quality practices is an asset.
  • Experience working with a variety of technical projects that relate to product and test engineering, failure analysis, design, and yield improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience with hands-on product characterization methodologies (planning, understanding of measurement techniques and use of lab equipment).
  • Detailed understanding of semiconductor product life cycle from post-silicon bring-up, device characterization, qualification, pre-production support, release to volume production and product sustenance.

Additional information

The candidate must be eligible to meet the requirements of export control regulations, including the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and Canadian government security requirements; and/or (as necessary):

  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • Must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods
  • Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data

Salary pay information:

  • Location: Ottawa, Canada

  • Indicative salary range: CA$98,080– CA$143,860

  • In addition, all employees will be eligible to participate in an incentive plan.
