Job summary

Rippling is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to anchor the Money Movement & Treasury architecture hub in Seattle. You will own the design and implementation of a deterministic ledger system and lead a high-impact team to build an execution layer decoupled from product velocity.

You will collaborate with Payments Data, Tax, and Accounting to ensure ledger integrity and compliance with regulatory reporting, establishing the ultimate guardrail for tax and payment liabilities.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong backend and distributed systems background.
• Ability to design large-scale, fault-tolerant systems from scratch.

Responsibilities

• Architect the Foundation: redesign general ledger and reconciliation systems for determinism.
• Unify abstraction across payment systems to enable a single lifecycle for every dollar.
• Build the engine: develop a reconciliation replay and testing framework.
• Provide technical leadership and anchor the Seattle site with a pod of senior engineers.
• Collaborate with Payments Data, Tax, and Accounting teams to meet regulatory requirements.
