Job summary

Credit Genie is seeking a Staff Engineer to own the technical direction of our money movement platform. You will shape architecture for payments, ledgering, refunds, and reconciliations, ensuring correctness and scalability in a fintech environment.

You will lead design reviews, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product, compliance, and banking partners to balance speed and regulatory rigor. You will operate production systems, respond to incidents, and drive improvements in observability,

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing and scaling backend systems in fast-growth fintech.
• Direct experience building financial platform systems at scale (payments, money movement, ledgering).
• Strong knowledge of correctness patterns: idempotency, distributed transactions, auditability.
• Proven track record setting technical direction and roadmaps, mentoring engineers.
• High ownership and end-to-end responsibility for systems, incident response.
• Expertise in large-scale distributed systems and secure coding practices.

Responsibilities

• Set architecture and long-term technical roadmap for money movement.
• Own backend systems end-to-end from design to production operations.
• Lead design reviews and mentor engineers to raise quality.
• Own bank and card integrations and external processor connections.
• Lead incident response and post-incident hardening for reliability.
