Job summary

Myticas Consulting Inc. is seeking a Staff Embedded Software/Firmware Engineer to design, develop, and test mission-critical firmware components for advanced embedded optical systems. This one-year contract is based in Ottawa, Ontario.

Responsibilities include designing and testing software for next-generation embedded platforms and refining requirements, with strong emphasis on RTOS/embedded Linux, interrupts, device drivers, memory management, and multithreading.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field with embedded software development experience.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in embedded systems design and development.
• Excellent object-oriented design and expert C++ programming skills.
• Deep understanding of multithreaded software systems and operating-system concepts.
• Knowledge of scripting language; Python preferred.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with version control such as GIT and bug tracking tools such as JIRA.
• Experience with optical devices, OTN, CMIS, DSP/line configuration, alarms, or coherent systems is an asset.
