Job summary

Shakepay is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join one of our cross-functional squads. You will partner with engineering, design, marketing, finance, and operations to identify growth opportunities and drive smarter decisions across the business.

You will use experiments, statistical methods, and machine learning to understand user behavior, growth levers, and ROI, shaping priorities and building dashboards and self-serve tools for visibility across the organization.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data science, growth analytics, experimentation, or related roles in high-growth environments.
• Experience in startup or high-growth consumer environments.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence decisions through data and clear reasoning.

Responsibilities

• Define KPIs and success metrics for squads to align around measurable outcomes.
• Use statistical analysis, forecasting, causal inference, and ML techniques to understand user behavior and business performance.
• Build dashboards, models, and self-serve tools to improve visibility into growth and business performance.

• We're looking for an experienced Data Scientist to join one of our cross-functional squads at Shakepay
• You'll work closely with engineering and design, while also partnering across marketing, finance, and operations to help us identify growth opportunities and make smarter decisions across the business
• You'll combine experimentation, statistical rigor, business intuition, and product thinking to influence how we grow, retain, and better serve millions of Canadians
• Partner closely with engineers and designers across our product squads to improve acquisition, activation, retention, monetization, and customer experience
• Collaborate with marketing, finance, and operations teams to uncover growth opportunities and drive better business decisions
• Champion and evangelize experimentation and decision frameworks that help us ship and iterate quickly with confidence
• Define KPIs and success metrics that help teams stay aligned around measurable outcomes
• Use statistical analysis, forecasting, causal inference, and machine learning techniques to better understand user behavior and business performance
• Identify high-leverage opportunities proactively through deep analysis of user journeys, lifecycle behavior, conversion funnels, and financial performance
• Help shape squad and company priorities by bringing data-informed perspectives on impact, tradeoffs, and ROI
• Build dashboards, models, and self-serve tools that improve visibility into growth and business performance across the organization
• Collaborate with the broader data team to maintain a shared and consistent data layer that serves our stakeholders and internal agents
• Foster a culture of experimentation, curiosity, and evidence-based decision-making across Shakepay
