Job summary

Shakepay is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join a cross-functional squad and partner across engineering, marketing, finance, and operations. You will identify growth opportunities, turn ambiguous problems into measurable impact, and influence product direction with data-driven insights.

You will apply experimentation, statistical rigor, and business intuition to improve acquisition, activation, retention, and monetization, while building dashboards and self-serve tools for stakeholders

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data science, growth analytics, experimentation, or related roles in high-growth environments.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Deep understanding of experimentation, causal inference, statistical analysis, forecasting, and KPI design.
• Strong product and business intuition, with the ability to connect user behavior to company outcomes.
• Experience working cross-functionally with teams such as marketing, finance, operations, or product.

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineers and designers to improve acquisition, activation, retention, monetization, and customer experience.
• Collaborate with marketing, finance, and operations to uncover growth opportunities and drive decisions.
• Champion experimentation and decision frameworks to ship and iterate quickly with confidence.
• Define KPIs and success metrics for measurable outcomes.
• Use statistics, forecasting, and ML to understand user behavior and business performance.
• Identify high-leverage opportunities through analysis of journeys, funnels, and financials.
• Help shape priorities with data-informed perspectives on impact, tradeoffs, and ROI.
• Build dashboards, models, and self-serve tools for growth visibility.
• Collaborate with data teams to maintain a shared data layer for stakeholders.
• Foster a culture of experimentation, curiosity, and evidence-based decisions across Shakepay.
