Syndio is hiring a Staff engineer to drive high-performance data workflows and scalable architectures in Calgary, with a remote-first approach. You’ll own ingestion, validation, modeling, and reporting pipelines, while building agentic tooling and ensuring trustworthy, observable performance across large datasets.

Qualifications

• Staff-level engineer with 8+ years of hands-on experience.
• Deep experience in complex distributed systems and handling latency across services.
• Proven performance and scale work with large datasets.
• Strong across Python, Go, TypeScript, React, Postgres, NoSQL.
• Testing across service interfaces with modern frameworks (Playwright/Cypress).

Responsibilities

• Own high-performance data workflows from ingestion to reporting over large datasets.
• Design for reliability, observability, and fast execution with caching and parallelism.
• Build agentic tooling to support Essentials workflows with strong evaluation gates and human review points.
• Set and raise standards for testing, performance, and agent development across the team.
