The Opportunity

Under the supervision of the Manager, Food Services, and Food Service Supervisor, the cook prepares meals and snacks for patients at the Adolescent Intensive Services location. Responsibilities include following standardized recipes, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring cleanliness. The cook may also perform duties at the main site and other related tasks as assigned.

Hours of Work

Flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, holidays, and weekends as needed.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Block II of Journeyperson Cook certification.
  • Food Handlers Course and WHMIS training.
  • Experience in healthcare or institutional food service preferred.
  • Good physical condition, ability to lift and stand for periods.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work independently, with good time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of various diet types and food allergens.
  • Multilingual skills are an asset.
