Job summary

General Motors in Canada seeks a Staff System Engineer for Chassis Systems to define end-to-end architectures across embedded ECUs and SIL/CoSim environments. You will lead reusable patterns, integrate plant models, and ensure high-quality execution across programs.

Role requires 10+ years in control systems with strong C/C++ background, AUTOSAR expertise, and hands-on experience with CoSim and vECU integration. Hybrid work with Markham/Oshawa offices.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in control systems or software development with leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of chassis and vehicle dynamics and calibration to targets.
• Production-grade embedded software experience to GM standards (C/C++, model-based development).
• Solid understanding of AUTOSAR (Classic/Adaptive) and GMBSW integration patterns.
• Experience with CoSim/SIL/HIL and vECU design/integration; plant modeling and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end architecture for chassis motion control across embedded and virtual platforms.
• Define reusable SIL/CoSim architecture patterns and infrastructure services.
• Own SnA and system-physics plant-model infrastructure for L3 CoSim; integrate into CI/CD.
• Own service/profile activation infrastructure and infra vECUs for SDV services across domains.
• Integrate supplier assets (FMUs, vECUs, C11 libraries) into CoSim and controllers.
• Improve CoSim, SIL/HIL, and embedded development processes; promote architectural guidelines.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship across cross-functional teams.
